Financial Aid

To avoid common pitfalls in applying and completing your financial aid file, view Seven Ways to Delay Your Financial Aid and the Academic Calendars section of our Schedules & Calendars page for deadlines. Processed applications may come in requesting additional documents (we will not know until they load in). Please Complete the applications at least four weeks ahead of the Financial Aid Priority Deadline to allow time for completing/submitting any additional documents that may be needed by the priority deadline listed on our Academic Calendars.

Checklists for:

New Students

Current Students

Upcoming Dates:

  • June 10, 2024 - Fall Class Registration Opens: Complete your 24-25 FAFSA ASAP if you haven’t already.

  • July 29, 2024 - Fall Financial Aid Priority Deadline (for applications & any documents they load in requesting)

Important Notes

  • If you are interested in state aid funds such as HOPE and have not already done so, you must complete the  (GSFAPP). This application is good for ten years, unlike the FAFSA which must be renewed for each aid year.
  • Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to maintain eligibility for any aid they qualify for (See our Student Aid Policies section below). Failing grades & withdrawals can impact financial aid and result in balances due.
  • Before the start of classes and into the first two weeks of the scheduled term, Bookstore credit will be made available to students who qualify for enough federal aid to cover tuition & fees, and who also have aid left that can be made available as a bookstore credit. If you qualify for a credit, please use it during the timeframes allowed. Do not wait for refunds to go out to purchase supplies, as refunds (if applicable) are processed later in the term.
  • Students receiving loan funds must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credit hours throughout the term (within their major and coded non-repeat). Withdrawals or enrollment resulting in less than 6 credit hours will result in loss of loan funds, and a potential balance due.
  • Disbursement dates are the dates that financial aid will disburse/release from the state and federal governments respectively to be sent to the college. They are not refund dates. If refunds are due from a disbursement after charges are deducted (including anything you may use in the bookstore as a credit), then you will need to allow up to 14 business days from the respective disbursement date for the funds to load in and any refund due from that portion to be processed out to Bank Mobile.
  • Students registered for an A or B term class(es), who add a C-term class(es) after the first three days of the A or B term starts, will not be able to have any federal aid adjusted up for the added class(es). Please view the Recalculation Policy in our Student Aid Policies section below.

Student Debt Management

Congress previously passed a law preventing further extension of the COVID Borrower Repayment Pause. Student loan interest resumed back on September 1, 2023, while payments restarted in October 2023.

Students with questions regarding managing debt may schedule an appointment to meet with a Financial Aid representative.
